What is Boosting Bravery?
Boosting Bravery is a peer-to-peer or peer-to-near peer skill-building mental wellness program that aims to provide students with knowledge and practical skills to better thrive in their online and offline lives.
Students meet weekly and using the program modules, lead each other through discussions and activities across the various topics.
Our Goals
This science and activity filled program gives skills for mental wellness in areas such as strengthening connections, time management, media analysis, managing emotions, and setting boundaries. Increase Self-Efficacy
Develop skills to set and achieve positive targets while overcoming stress, nerves, and anxiety to build self-assurance.
Overcome Negative Self-Talk
Learn techniques to counteract self-criticism, including issues arising from social media, shows, YouTube and so forth.
Improve Communication and Relationships
Practice strategies for discussing challenging topics, managing social conflicts, and building strong, healthy relationships.
Develop Emotional Intelligence
Learn to establish healthy personal boundaries and understand and manage everyday emotions more effectively.
Gain Control Over Social Media and Tech
Develop a balanced and positive relationship with technology and social media, with an improved understanding of how social media targets our vulnerabilities.
How It Works
Over 8 weekly sessions, student-led teams meet for 45-60 minutes. Using the meeting guides, student leaders facilitate discussions about social situations or emotional topics and lead the group in practicing and learning related skills and techniques they can use in their everyday lives.
